Are cold lasers harmful? 2018-02-09T17:14:30-05:00

No. Lasers such as theralase are used for tissue stimulation and will not damage cells no matter how long they were used on your condition.

Do children also receive chiropractic treatment? 2018-04-04T17:21:42-04:00

Yes, children can benefit from spinal check ups and adjustments. All kids endure falls and strains especially those participating in sports. Injuries can cause many symptoms including neck and back pain, soreness etc. Many teenagers spend too much time hunched over their phones with poor neck alignment and posture. Chiropractic treatment can help them as well. Chiropractic adjustments are highly skilled and adapted to each individual patient regardless of size or age. Even babies suffering from colic can be helped with very gentle adjustments.

Do cold lasers burn? 2018-02-09T17:14:07-05:00

No.

Do cold lasers work? 2018-02-09T17:14:53-05:00

Does an adjustment with the advanced Sigma Spine Align technology cost more per visit? 2018-04-01T14:38:28-04:00

No, the fee is the same as a manual or traditional type of adjustment.

How do these lasers work? 2018-02-09T17:15:20-05:00

When laser light interacts with tissue it causes certain photochemical reactions to occur and stimulates natural healing processes thus transforming light energy into chemical energy.

How long does cold laser therapy take? 2018-02-09T17:15:49-05:00

Treatment will vary from as little as 2 minutes to as long as 20 minutes per session. The total number of treatment sessions required varies from between 5 to 25 depending on your body s natural healing rate and severity of your condition.

How many adjustments will I require? 2018-04-04T17:22:57-04:00

The number of treatments varies with each patient and their specific health goals. Many people feel improvement within a week or two of frequent adjustments. As your spine stabilizes visits are less frequent. Although about 80% of patients will feel much better within a month, chronic spinal conditions can take months or more to have maximal healing.  Generally there are three levels of care, but initially most people need immediate relief.

Relief care is provided for immediate pain and discomfort. Depending on the diagnosis, your age and physical condition, one visit, or several visits over a short period of time may be necessary.

Corrective care treats long term spinal problems. Because these problems have existed for some time they require a longer, more complex period of care, which may well include a customized exercise program. Adjustments become less frequent during corrective care as your spinal joints, muscles and ligaments and nerve function improve.

Supportive or maintenance care helps you maintain and enjoy the benefits you have achieved from relief and corrective care. Continuing to work with your chiropractor and having adjustments once in a while will keep your spine as healthy as possible. This is similar to regular dental check ups but much less costly. We hope that patients will continue to try and help themselves with exercise, stretches etc. so that the need for maintenance care is less.

Whether you decide to attend our office for relief care or choose to continue with some type of spinal health maintenance program the choice is yours. We offer the best care possible and you can decide how much of it you want!

Is Chiropractic Safe? 2018-01-23T17:46:01-05:00

The safety and effectiveness of chiropractic treatment has been studied very carefully. Both the medical profession and more importantly, chiropractors themselves need to be completely certain that the care they provide is safe. Few mediacal treatments have been scrutinized in as much detail as chiropractic.

To date, no significant findings have shown that the risks are greater than for other back or neck pain treatments. In fact, studies have found chiropractic to be extremely safe and effective in alleviating back pain, neck pain and many types of headaches. Remember, chiropractic care does not involve risky drugs or surgery.

If a chiropractor diagnoses a problem that would be better treated by another health care professional, he or she will make an appropriate referral.

Complications from chiropractic are rare. Your chiropractor will discuss all potential side effects and risks along with the benefits of any care you receive.

Is referral required from a medical doctor? 2018-04-04T17:27:36-04:00

Patients can consult a Doctor of Chiropractic directly. Chiropractors often work closely with medical doctors, many of whom refer patients to them for musculoskeletal conditions such as back problems. Likewise, your chiropractor will refer you to your medical doctor when necessary.

Is the Computerized Adjustment superior to manual methods? 2018-04-04T17:23:29-04:00

A majority of our patients prefer the new technology when given the choice. Results will vary from patient to patient but due to the precision and feedback pre and post adjustment with this technology, we have been having excellent results. Seniors in particular and people who may have had fear of traditional spinal manipulation do particularly well with this method of helping them with their spinal problems.

At our clinic, patients can choose to have traditional chiropractic care if they have had success in the best. We will recommend the method that will get you the best results in the shortest amount of time or the type of care that you prefer.

What happens during a chiropractic treatment? 2018-02-09T17:12:56-05:00

During your first visit, the chiropractor will want to know about your health history as well as your current complaint. Your home and work life as well as your level of physical activity may also affect your health, so don’t be surprised to be asked questions about these.

Although chiropractors use their hands for most treatments, they also use other methods such as heat, light, specialized adjusting instruments, ultrasound, electrotherapy, personalized exercise programs, muscle-testing and balancing. Your chiropractor can also give you information and guidance on how you can stay healthy through proper nutrition, exercise and lifestyle changes.
